Richi Bhatia received her masters in Visual Arts from Maharaja Sayajirao University, Faculty of Fine Arts Vadodara, specializing in Painting in 2015. Her works traverses from extreme intuitive practices to protracting processes trying to interrogate identity in its varied surroundings. Identity as a woman’s body, as a character, as a psyche, also as an object intervening personal histories and logic of preposition. Medium and form both being an integral part of her practice; they try to examine the aftermath of time on nature, humans and objects thus bringing everything under a transient quality; making memory a scaffolding of future. She is recipient of the prestigious Nasreen Mohamedi scholarship 2013. She was part of Sandarbh 39, International Art Residency 2014. She represented her University for Jenisys 2.0 cultural exchange program 2014, Japan. A gold medalist for M.F.A. in Painting 2013 – 15, Maharaja Sayajirao University, Vadodara. She was an artist- in - residence at the studio Blueprint 12, Vadodara (July to December 2015). She currently lives and works in Surat.
